The European Solidarity Centre is producing a project of film notations - several-hour-long interviews with people, who participated in the operations of the Solidarity trade union and social movement, people, who were active in democratic opposition and in independent culture.
Personal testaments of heroes of those days constitute an important source of information about people and events; they reveal facts hitherto unknown, and they remind us of people long forgotten. This project will serve the preservation of the broadly-meant legacy of Solidarity and memory of people who co-founded the ideas and heritage of Solidarity - something of great importance to Poland, Europe and the world.
The film archives of the European Solidarity Centre’s gather all film materials related to Solidarity. The film notation archives are expanding continuously and today contain several hundred hours of recordings; selected excerpts of each notation may be viewed on the European Solidarity Centre’s website.
